Congrats, you are finally ready to announce your show \ud83d\udce2<\/h2>\n

Now that you have the date and your university talent booking agency has your show pinned down<\/em>, you are ready to start promoting your show!\u00a0 Below are some basic pointers to help get you started and a\u00a0ticket sales worksheet<\/span>\u00a0to help keep you organized!<\/p>\n

  1. Once your Bid gets confirmed, establish a firm on-sale date. Understand there can be different dates for a pre-sale to students, special interest groups, versus on-sale to the public to consider. Keep your middle-agent (middle buyer)<\/em> advised of the dates so they can obtain timely Artist approval.<\/li>\n
  2. Establish how far in advance of the on-sale date you will announce and advertise your show.\u00a0Converge Events uses an extensive project management database covering over 100 benchmarks to track every aspect of planning and executing your successful concert or fraternity party. Create your marketing plan for artist input and approval by working your way backwards in time – from the playdate to now\u00a0 – to decide when you want to begin critical events. If possible, give yourself at least 6 weeks before the show to establish your presale, onsale, and when you want your advertising to begin.<\/li>\n
  3. Decide your ticket vendor and ticketing outlet options. Determine if your athletic department or building has an established existing relationship with a ticketing vendor that you can take advantage of. Some options you can explore are provenue.tickets.com<\/a>, business.ticketmaster.com<\/a> and eventbrite.com<\/a>, etc.<\/li>\n
  4. Make a splash via social media, campus events, radio, YouTube, posters\/print!\u00a0 CE will always supply you with current artist approved images and media. The more tickets you sell in advance the better. If your event is a frat or sorority social make sure to notify your national alumni chapter to take advantage of any advertising they currently have to offer.<\/li>\n
  5. If it is an open show, coordinate your on-sale announcement with the Artist and get listed on their tour itinerary. You don\u2019t want students finding out about your show on the Artist\u2019s social media before you tell them about it. Provide a contact number for their fans to buy tickets…this is free show advertising for you!<\/li>\n
  6. If it is a closed show make sure the Artist does not list your show on their tour itinerary without your express permission. You don\u2019t want fans or the public showing up for a show they cannot get into.<\/li>\n
  7. Maintain regular counts from the start of sales so you can monitor how your promotion is working and determine if you need to supplement it to achieve a sold-out show. You can use something as simple as a spreadsheet form – like the one we provide below.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
